i'm only 60 but i am almost completely grey now and thinning big time.
my ob man is increasing my hormones to .425 instead of .325 plus giving me vaginal cream once a week.
my hair texture is now coarse. he says alot of it may be due to menopause. i had a hysterectomy in my 40's due to abdominal cysts which ruptured and they had to do it.
so how much do hormones play in this? and has anybody else gone grey early?
i mean i think 60 is too young to be this much grey.

I'm nearly 60 (gag) and have maybe 5 grey hairs. I think a lot of it is genetics. My parents took a long time to turn grey. My mom died at age 81 and only about half of her hair was grey.
At least that's one thing I can be happy about!

Wow... I wonder why one person would have more hydrogen peroxide than another??? Like, IN the body??
Do they also mean that if you peroxide your hair, you'll go grey earlier??
They did say genetics play a role. I agree.

My mother was extremely ill for years before her death at 57. She had no grey hair. She had had a hysterectomy decades earlier and was on no hormones.
But, most of my friends turned silver long ago. I think they look beautiful and I can't wait for my hair to lighten up but it just won't do it. Genetics plays into this a lot.
I think it could be a big mistake to increase hormones just to try to get your hair to turn back in time. Be very careful with that. -

nah, he's increasing my hormones because he says i'm so dry and other stuff.
this is one doctor i just love and if he says do something, i'm doing it.
finally a good doctor....and he's obgyn...go figure..
