I had made a post about a month ago asking people if they ever had intense thigh/hamstring pain. Some people said it was bartonella. Some thought it was Babesia.
I live in the south so Babs isn't exactly common down here. Can you get it from other sources, such as fleas? I'm not prone to thinking I have it but this pain is unexplainable.
This is the FOURTH time I've had severe pain in my hamstring area, where I cannot straighten my legs or lie down unless I am THOROUGHLY medicated.
This happens with a similar pattern every time:
Severe headache for a couple days,
higher than normal fever (usually 99.2 spikes, but during this time from 99.7-100.1 fever),
followed by five days worth of SEVERE pain in the hamstrings as if I had stretched them.
I can't figure it out, I hear of everyone having leg pain in other areas (front of thigh, shins, joints, etc.) but what about this???

I started Plaquenil back in March for Babesia, and had some interesting reactions. The first thing I noticed within a couple days was a pain in the nerve or hamstring behind my left knee. I felt it everyday, intermittently.
My veins were bulging on Plaquenil as well; looked like I was on steroids!
But, the nerve pain hit really hard close to two weeks in. So, bad I had to stop the meds. It was intense, and I even felt pain in the nerves of my brain.
I also had tingling shoot through my hands and up my arms -- and tingling, which is a common symptom, had never been past my hands or feet.
Scared the Be-Jesus out of me, and I don't scare easily.
Not sure if it's the same thing, but my guess is Babs.

Thank you Wolfed, that reminds me to mention that this pain is on BOTH sides, and they usually hurt in equal severity. Truly baffling, I hope we can figure this out!

Well, I'm starting Mepron in late December at the earliest. My LLMD and I agreed, if I have the same issue, then we'll know it's Babesia for sure.
Lemme ask you, do you have any tingling issues? Most people associate that with Bartonella, but I happen to think mine might be more related to Babesia.
My Bart symptoms are gone as far I can tell, and I still have the tingling. Interestingly, OLE makes it a little worse..
