If you are sulphur, ate, ite sensitive be careful of Glut. I am sensitive and had an allergic reaction to the IV. LLMD confirmed those w/ a sensitivity should be careful.

It's all so confusing. I'm allergic to sulfa drugs, but not sulfur.
From this article, it looks like sulfa drugs are not similar to sulfur, yet sulfites are...it's all quite maddening.

I know.....I seem to be sensitive to all 3 but who really knows. Sometimes everything makes me have a "reaction".

Giving someone with methylation problems that causes sulfite sensitivity glutathione would cause them to have a sulfite reaction.
This is because the byproducts of glutathione's activities creates sulfites in the body.
To be able to tolerate glutathione, one would need to ensure adequate compensation for CBS and/or SUOX genomic variants first (and verify that the compensation is working).
They are all different. A reaction to one does not automatically mean one would react to either of the others.
I happen to be allergic to all 3, but not everyone is.
There are many who are allergic to sulfa drugs who do just fine with sulfites and sulfates.
Likewise, there are those who are sensitive to sulfites who do not have a problem with sulfa drugs (though this is a rarer combination).

Razzle, thank you very much for the breakdown. I can't tolerate glutathione either.
I had a very bad reaction to a small amount of oral glutathione so I would have hated to see what IV would to to me.
My LLMD attributed it to "sulphur toxicity" and put me on Sparga. Months later, I had an allergic reaction to Bactrim, a sulfa drug. I also have methylation issues. I won't be taking glut again in any form.
At the very least, if you are still considering this, I would start with a tiny amount of oral first. Personally, I would find another way to detox though!
