Rumi, the nutrition is good for your oral ecosystem, tummy and GI tract. It's quite possible that there are synergistic food groups that help digest it more uniformly, but it's all good!
Perhaps taking it on an empty stomach may help you better understand how to read your body's response, which is an important skill to acquire if you haven't already learned or refined this.

Huh? What? Anyone else? I know that the chlorella mops up all kinds of stuff, besides neurotoxins and heavy metals, so I still need to know how to take it properly, so as to not absorb any supplements or meds I am taking.
I certainly know how to read my body's responses, but this question isn't about that. Thank you.

"Timing is important to assure that the chlorella is in the correct portion of the small intestine when the bile squirts..Otherwise the metals are reabsorbed on the way down the small intestine.Chlorella contains a large amount of protective substances: sporopollenin, mucopolysaccarides, peptides, Vit E and carotenoids, Vit K, methyl B12 and others."
That means that chlorella (and other binders) for neurotoxin absorption should be taken 20 minutes before each meal and at bedtime.

I think everyone is making assumptions here, and I was trying to be polite. With so many variables to consider (you say "supplements or meds") any advice based on this ambiguity is conjecture.
If you are taking "supplements" that are powerful enzymes, or other agents that degrade biofilms, than Gigi's advice may make sense.
I take chlorella and other greens as food. Are you taking it as part of a detoxifier program with antbx? If so, consider other mop-up binding agents, such as ground flax seed, clay (bentonite), charcoal, etc. to remove (supposedly dead) microbial matter.
This stuff is easy to find, and you don't have to spend big dollars sending away for it. It's available everywhere.

I've been wondering this too. If I take chlorella 30 minutes before meals, and then my abx with my meals, I wondered if this would "mop up" my abx as well.
I usually just take chlorella at bed time just to be safe.

But if we take Probiotics before bed time is it ok to take chlorella with it? I do not want to "mop up" any precious VSL#3 and Theralac!
Also is chlorella ok with Zhang Artemisia because those are supposed to be taken before a meal on an empty stomach as well.

Good question, penguingirl. Wish I knew the answers

My LLMD said that chlorella "can bind with the good stuff too" so to take it three hours apart from meds and supplements. Particularly meds, of course.
Dr K has written in one article that to take chlorella together with fish oils is a beneficial and complimentary duo. They enhance each other's absorption.
He writes that vitamin C negates the effects of chlorella, to take them separately.

the fewer binders (i.e. chlorella, chitosan, pectin, cholestepure, charcoal, etc.) you take, the more chances that you will redistribute the neurotoxins through the system. Take probiotics with food. The binders have to be in place in the small intestine part in order to be waiting for the toxins coming down when foods are eaten. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel? That is what binders are for and that is why they are called binders. But they have to be ready and waiting for the toxins to avoid feeling miserable or to at least reduce the chances for feeling miserable. That is the way I did it years ago and I can honestly say that I got rid of Lyme and never knew what a herx is. I never had one. These are the instructions that I receiver all through the time I was guided by Dr. K. and every new patient gets these instructions.
Search for some of the texts that I posted here about Chlorella.
Yes, you should take Vit C away from chlorella. Research done years ago by Yoshiaki Omura, (the hero of the cilantro tincture discovery, I believe the only substance we know that crosses bbb and works for metals - to be timed and dealt with great care.)
The article I quoted in my earlier post referring to the small intestine above are Dr. K.'s words - you can find the whole text by googling your question and Dr.K.'s name.
May you never redistribute neurotoxins!!!!! Take plenty binders - they are most important.
Take care.

That's weird. i was just looking at chlorella on one of the vitamin sites. The directions said "10 tablets daily with food." Now I'm confused.

Chlorella is a perfect food. Chlorella is also great binder. If you have to eliminate neurotoxins, use it as Dr. K. suggests. If you are after the food/nutritional value only, take it any other way.
If you take it as a binder, you may need to take more, sometimes less. If you don't benefit from chlorella, take other binders. But do take them (binders) if you are trying to eliminate toxins from your body. Choose any of them that work best for you.
Chlorella has the added benefit of being a perfect nutrient.
CHlORELLA (by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, MD PhD)
Both C. pyrenoidosa (better absorption of toxins, but harder to digest) and C. vulgaris (higher CGF content see below, easier to digest, less metal absorbing capabitlity) are available. Chlorella has multiple health inducing effects:
ANTIVIRAL (especially effective against the cytomegaly virus from the herpes family)
TOXIN BINDING (mucopolysaccharide membrane) All known toxic metals, environmental toxins such as dioxin and others.
Repairs and activates the bodys DETOXIFICATION FUNCTIONS:
Dramatically increases reduced glutathione,
Sporopollein is effective as cholestyramine in binding neurotoxins and more effective in binding toxic metals than any other natural substance found.
Various peptides restore coeruloplasmin and metallothioneine.
Lipids (12.4%) alpha- and gamma-linoleic acid help to balance the increased intake of fish oil during our detox program and are necessary for a multitude of functions, including formation of the peroxisomes.
Methycobalamin is food for the nervous system, restores damaged neurons and has its own detoxifying effect.
Chlorella growth factor helps the body detoxify itself in a yet not understood profound way. It appears that over millions of years chlorella has developed specific detoxifuing proteins and peptides for every existing toxic metal.
The porphyrins in chlorophyl have th eir own strong metal binding effect. Chlorophyll also activates the PPAR-receptor on the nucleus of the cell which is responsible for the transcirption of DNA and coding the formation of the peroxisomes (see fish oil) , opening of the cell wall (unknown mechanism) which is necessary for all detox procedures, normalizes insulin resistance and much more. Medical drugs that activate the PPAR-receptor (such as pioglitazone) have been effective in the treatment of breast and prostate cancer.
SUPER NUTRIENT: 50-60% amino acid content, ideal nutrient for vegetarians, methylcobalamin the most easily absorbed and utilized form of B12, B6, minerals, chlorophyll, beta carotene, etc.
IMMUNE SYSTEM strengthening
RESTORES bowel flora
DIGESTIVE AID (bulking agent)
ALKALINIZING AGENT (important for patients with malignancies)
D O S A G E : Start with 1 gram (=4 tabl) 3-4 times/day. This is the standard maintenance dosage for grownups for the 6-24 months of active detox. During the more active phase of the detox (every 2-4 weeks for 1 week), whenever cilantro is given, the dose can be increased to 3 grams 3-4 times per day (1 week on, 2-4 weeks back down to the maintenance dosage). Take 30 minutes before the main meals and at bedtime. This way chlorella is exactly in that portion of the small intestine where the bile squirts into the gut at the beginning of the meal, carrying with it toxic metals and other toxic waste. These are bound by the chlorella cell wall and carried out via the digestive tract.
When amalgam fillings are removed, the higher dose should be given for 2 days before and 2-5 days after the procedure (the more fillings are removed, the longer the higher dose should be given).
NO cilantro should be given around the time of dental work. During this time we do not want to mobilize deeply stored metals in addition to the expected new exposure.
If you take Vitamin C during your detox program, take it as far away from Chlorella as possible (best after meals).
S I D E E F F E C T S : most side effects reflect the toxic effect of the mobilized metals, which are shuttled through the organism. This problem is instantly avoided by significantly increasing the chlorella dosage, not by reducing it, which would worsen the problem. (Small chlorella doses mobilize more metals than are bound in the gut, large chlorella doses bind more toxins than are mobilized).
Some people have problems digesting the cell membrane of chlorella. The enzyme cellulase resolves this problem. Cellulase is available in many health food stores in digestive enzyme products. Taking chlorella together with food also helps in some cases, even though it is less effective that way. Chlorella vulgaris has a thinner cell wall and is better tolerated by people with digestive problems.
CHLORELLA GROWTH FACTOR (Biopure CGF available as capsule)
This is a heat extract from chlorella that concentrates certain peptides, proteins and other ingredients. The research on CGF shows that children develop no tooth decay and their dentition (maxillary facial development) is near perfect. There are less illnesses and children grow earlier to a larger size with higher IQ and are socially more skilled. There are case reports of patients with dramatic tumor remissions after taking CGF in higher amounts. In our experience, CGF makes the detox experience for the patient much easier, shorter and more effective.
Recommended dosage: 1 cap. CGF for each 20 tabl. Chlorella

If I want it for its nutritional properties, I take it with food.
If I want to use it as a binder, I take it at bedtime away from food.
