After seeing the red pin prick rash on Dr. J's website I noticed I have had those a long time on my lower legs just above the ankles. I thought they were shaving bumps and they are hard to see with my freckles.

Anyways, since starting Mepron I have noticed these same pin pricks appearing on my thighs and even 3 now on my face!

What is going on in my body with the Mepron to cause this. Is this a sign that this is the right drug for me?

Thanks for any help!

Please keep a very close eye on any rash from Mepron. It does cause a rash in some people usually at around day 10.

Hubby thought he had an allergic reaction to this med and so did his PCP when he tried it back in 2003. He recently tried malarone which has mepron plus a 2nd ingredient. Started getting hives which went away within a few hours. Stopped the med for 5 days and resumed it at a lower dose. So far no more hives, but it may have not been long enough yet for a reaction.

I would call your LLMD and ask them what signs you should watch for in case this is an allergic reaction.
