In case it matters to you, Premarin is made from horse pee. Yuck!

yes, they are basically tortured. there is a site about equine rescue.
i couldn't finish the site, i cried so hard.
that's why i don't want to take it.
any woman considering premarin should go to this site and have to look at these horrible heart wrenching stories and pictures.
why drug companies would deal with these people is beyond me.

I was taking hormone shots, but right now I'm on Estrace. It is a synthetic hormone...no horses involved!

You will have to have a scrip for it. I also take Estrace and have never had any problems with it.

Yam cream might work if all you are addressing is dryness.
Doubt it will help hair falling out.

My LLMD put me on hormones, not premarin. He said you can't deal with lyme and hormonal issues together. Have to treat the hormonal problems too.

- In addition to reading the authors' works above, it's best to find a good ND who is well versed in bio-identical hormones. It is best to ask your LLMD for suggestions.
Also be aware that not all NDs work in the area of hormones. My regular ND finds it just too complex and refers her patients to the author of that first book above who happens to be in my city. --------------------
Topic: How to find an ILADS-educated LL ND, a L.Ac. (Acupuncturist), a doctor of Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.), or a doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine (D.Ay.), certified herbalists or nutritionists, etc.
Links to organizations of holistic MDs (not necessary LL) are also included. Many of them will know of bio-identical hormones and while some many not be exactly LL, they are open to looking at other ways to achieve results that are best for YOUR individual body.
