I'm having some issues...I'm having some itching in my female area BUT not where you normally have a yeast infection it is actually only towards the front where you pee.
Any idea what this could be? I've been taking my diflucan-I'm not having any other women issues that one usually has when they have a "yeast infection." It's only towards the front and it's not all the time.
Could there be something in my urine that is irritating it or what??? I was thinking maybe one of my meds was causing something in my urine to irrirate my skin...but I dunno.
I plan on talking to my LLMD tomorrow when I call her regarding something else but just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas???
Ok and I must say this was EXTREMELY embarrasing to post....but I searched and searched and searched and couldn't find anything on it...so here am I embarrassing myself, lol.

- It can still be some kind of yeast. There are no boundaries where fungal infections are concerned. And diflucan may be no match for areas that are moist and dark.
Avoid nylon and synthetic underwear and opt for all cotton. Avoid tights, leggings and the like - at least around the house. Avoid jeans and pants for a while as it's best to wear loose fitting clothing such as skirts as much as possible and no underwear to bed - for increased air circulation.
If you have some antifungal cream, that may help relieve the itching. Coconut oil may help as well. Aloe vera is also an option. Calendula gel can be excellent for topical relief until the underlying cause is addressed.
Separately from any of the above, be sure to put some probiotic on the area, topically. You can use almond oil as a carrier but not coconut oil or anything that is antifungal in nature as then the probiotics will loose their effectiveness. You may be able to just open a capsule and transfer some of the probiotic powder without any kind of carrier oil.

Many other things can cause it, too. Avoid additives such as lotions to tissue or any kind of personal wipes. Avoid all chemicals.
Irritation from personal care products, imbalance of pH (be sure to eat LOTS of leafy greens 3 x day) . . . chlorine or other chemicals in bath tissue - or the roughness of certain brands of tissue.
Now, you'd think that the eco-friendly recycled non-chlorine bath tissue would be a wise move. And it is. However, that is usually rougher so be extra careful to blot to dry, do not wipe the tender uro-genital tissue with any bath tissue. Most of it is really rather rough.

hey, on this board nothing is TMI!!!!!
i get alot of "external" itching. i dig and scratch and nothing seems to help.
i bought that vagisil cream and it seems to calm things down a little.
but yeah diflucan helps and probiotics.
i usually get the breath holding scalding urine when i get a urine infection. i mean you know immediately what it is. luckily haven't had one in years.
you can also get "azo" from walmart. they have all types depending on what you have. might want to try those too.

It could be anything in Lyme...
I slather on pure coconut oil and it stops any itching...
If your worried about parasites treat.
Both kinds internal and external..Lyme is a magnet to both.

My daughter gets this often. She is gets very red and itchy. She washes very thoroughly with ivory soap, dries completely, and applies diaper rash ointment. The ointment prevents the area from being irritated by her urine. It always clears up her discomfort in 1-2 days.

www.vitacost.com also carries AVALON ORGANICS line of soaps, all free of SLS and petroleum products. The lemon or the peppermint are very nice, and because they have essential oil and not artificial fragrance, these work for me, despite chemical sensitivities.
Lavender is like the kiss of death, however. I hear many MCS folks say that about lavender. It just knocks them out. ---------------
If you are drinking lemon water, some people are sensitive to the citrus.
I could do no more than a cup a day of lemon water or else I'd get that too. The citrus was irritating to the urethra and bladder.

OK.........another angle....I to had what she described as well. To top it off I have no more cushion in two of my lower back /vertebrae discs....hence I CANNOT bend to wipe!!! (I know,getting personal!) BUT this has really helped getting to the bottom of things....I have a friend who owns USABidet.com (check out his video)install this to the underside of your toilet seat and this lovely little bidet does wonders in the business side of keeping your bum clean and has helped alleviate alot of my issues! I jokingly call it my "Fanny Fountain"! Aim and shoot....I should have gotten one of these sooner!!!

Pinelady is right, parasites can cause this as well. I've had this problem and at times could actually feel them moving.. It's very uncomfortable but with treatment it went away.

you need 40 % not 13 % zinc it helps babies, so it can help you also.

Well I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Thank you all. I will definitely bring it up to my doctor when I get around to calling her...which I will FORCE myself to do tomorrow. I've just been so busy.
It's really irritating more than anything else. Only painful if I itch it...obviously.
I have some azo, but I wasn't sure if there was any interactions with all the rest of the stuff I was taking. So I was planning on asking my doctor about that when I talk to her as well.
