Hi folks:
I know..I've asked a lot lately. But just looking for some guidance.
Restarted my treatment on Jan 3 after a 2 week drug holiday. I'm now on Doxy, Omnicef and pulse Flagyl 3 days every 2 weeks. Omnicef is a new drug for me.
Since starting I appear to be having a mild flare of sorts. My ears are "zapping" regularly. (where I get a sudden spike of Tinnitus for 5-10 seconds in one ear or the other.) I had gone almost 2 months without a "zap." Muscles, primarily calves, are twitching more than normal. Again, this was almost gone in Nov, Dec. What little twiching I had was mild. Now they are going crazy.
Tinging left had..more than usual. Pain in left foot more than usual.
It's either a herx from the new meds, or else it is my Bart or Babs or something coming back. I was primarily treating Bart in November.
One comment...I usually Pulse flagyl for 3 days every 2 weeks. But..I've recently read how Dr. B says it must be taken for a minimum of 14 days. So..I decided to try a 14 day run to see what happens. Currently in day 5. I should mention that all of the above flares started before I started my pulse.
Thanks..just really confused as to whether the uptick in activity is a good or bad sign.

When you start a new med and you get "more than usual" of your normal symptoms or some old symptoms come back, that is because of the new killing profile of the new med.
The new med is killing more germs than the old meds were killing. So, that is a good thing.
If nothing happens when you start a new med, that generally means the new med isn't effective for you.
