I really would like to start treatment with Mepron for Babesia, but I only have a test positive by IGG.
Was curious what experiences everyone has had with their insurance covering Mepron considering how expensive it is. I have BCBS of NJ.

My daughter is taking it without a current positive test.
She had a positive test a few years ago, but has tested negative since then.
When we switched LLMD's, her new one thought her babs was undertreated and diagnosed her clinically without testing again.
Insurance is still paying for it.

My insurance is paying for it for both my DS and me. Neither of us have a positive test. There is no quantity limit either.
The haven't argued with a thing except for Diflucan. I have to buy that myself (at Costco for $23 for 30 day supply).

IF they require a diagnosis, and if you have low immune system counts, have your MD give you a diagnosis of "immune difficiency".
Mepron is used to prevent and treat pnuemmonia in aids patients....
