This has been going on for a while now. And I'm not talking about dry eyes or lack of tear production...nothing like that.
Just that when I'm upset emotionally, whether it is because someone upset me or I was watching a sad movie on TV, my eyes may 'glaze over' and I may even feel like I want to start outright bawling, but as far as any tears rolling down my cheeks, they seem to get physically 'stuck'? My head, nose, ears will all feel congested as they would normally when you're about to cry your eyes out (even to the point that my head feels like it is about to explode from the increased pressure), yet tears refuse to 'release' from my tear ducts?
Occasionally if I am especially emotional and concentrate on 'squeezing' the tears out, and if I do this while making exaggerated crying faces, I'll be able to get one or two tears to release from one eye (never both), but nothing compared to what I will eventually blow out of my nose. I mean, I will blow tissues and tissues worth of mucous out of my nose during one of these 'tearless crying episodes', but nothing or little comes from my eyes?
Could this be neurological? It is really beginning to worry me. I mean, imagine needing to cry, but your head, nose, ears just fill with mucous and additional pressure...

I have never heard of anything like that. Very odd. What about Sjoren's syndrome?

I don't think it's that. My head fills with congestion...EVERYTHING fills with congestion as if I'm about to burst into tears, but nothing seems to come out of my tear ducts? Like there is a blockage or something?
Could it be seizure-related? Perhaps the signal that opens my tear ducts doesn't go off or get through? I've had seizures...

I rarely produce tears. I also rarely sweat even when it's hot or at the gym. My guess - it's nerve related.
