So sorry Tricia, but also thankful that you didn't fall through the cracks. It sounds like you are in good hands.

Tricia, I thought Bartonella was lyme.. I am beginning to feel I know so little. Good luck to you, so glad you have a doctor.

I do not have a LLMD and the doctor I am seeing told me yesterday I had, had lyme to long for any treatment. Even cut back on my xanax. That was keeping me from the mental ward.

So discouraged and so understand you being nervous and sad... prayers.

Bartonella is a coinfection of lyme.

phyl.. please dump this doctor. I had Lyme for 42 yrs before being diagnosed .. and after 4 yrs treatment I've been off abx and doing well for the past 6 1/2 yrs

You can do it too!

Congratulations. I guess.

Most of us have Borrelia, Bartonella and Babesia.

Fry Labs has a more accurate Babesia FISH test than Igenex.

You could also do an antibiotic challenge for Babs to see if you herx.

Many people make the mistake of assuming they don't have Babs if the test comes back negative. Not treating for it will keep you from progressing in your Lyme treatment.

Just something to keep in mind.

Phyl, yup, that's what I was told. I was told that because I was IgG positive, I had lyme before, but I don't have it anymore, and what I had was psychological.

I found a new doctor. Treated. Got better.

Please find a new doctor.

Tricia, congrats on the clear test results.

Tricia,

Though it's overwhelming, now you know and that's the most important thing. You can now get with your md and come up with a plan to get better. You can do it. Many here have gotten better.

Phyl,

Don't be discouraged. There's a lot to learn. We all are learning, even those who have been here the longest. That's what lymenet is for.

So we're here for you. Many with tons of knowledge just waiting to help. Those who advised to get a new doctor, an llmd, were right.

Check seeking a doctor and put the wheels in motion to find a competent practitioner. You will feel much more optimistic with a knowledgable md in your corner.

Take care.

^ Phyl,. how do you know you are "allergic" to the antibiotics?

What are your symptoms when you take the meds? Dont mistake a herx for an allergic reaction. Almost everyone feels REALLY crappy when they first start treatment

Maybe you should have a drug allergy test done to see if you truely are allergic.
