I tested positive for Lyme via Igenex urine pcr test. I always thought that test was pretty hard to argue if you got a positive result. I thought false positives were rare.
I am trying to document my history for a leave from work and I searched for info on this test. I can't find one link saying this test is accurate. Even this one says its not.

I would say you couldn't argue with a PCR test.. but I'm not SURE about a PCR concerning the urine testing.
Could you cut and paste the part you are referring to? I don't have time to read the whole thing to see which part you are talking about.
(PS.. I'm off to bed!)

Many ID docs discount PCR tests, especially from the famous Igenex. It'll all depend on who's reviewing what records and for what purpose unfortunately.

I'm far from knowledgable, but why would a PCR be discounted?
Would someone say that the amount of bacteria was negligible before being amplified?

Thanks for the replies. I am not feeling like doing research right now but will be back on later to give better details of what I am finding.
