400 mg seems the standard dose for Doxy for Lyme. I was wondering why this would be standard for all people. For example a 120 pound women (me) would take the same dose as a 220 man? I have taken 400 mg before and after a month have worked up to it again but it is kicking my butt. Wouldn't it be more difficult for me to tolerate this dose then the 220 pound man and would't say 300 mg do for me what 400 mg would do for the person that is 100 pounds more than me?

Thanks for your input, I am taking it but am really struggling to get through my day. I remember this last time and it was horrible but I can't remember how long it lasted. I did eventually start to feel the best I had in years and I keep telling myself I will be there again soon. It's just hard to be patient when you feel so toxic.

You are right the LLMD should give the dose based on weight and they should monitor the concentration of antibiotix in blood .But no one likes to do that they are just lasy.

Yes it should be based on weight. A standard dose is just an average.
