WHYYYY!!!!!!! WHYYYY!!!

Anyone else have appendicitis WHILE on abx? My doctor said the chances of this were miniscule, but low and behold I got it. Just had my appendix removed and now had to stop my Tetracycline and Nystatin (doc says it slows down healing).

Is this like starting from square one when I go back on in one week? I was on pipercillin IV in the hospital and now cephalexin 3x a day.

Thanks,
Renny

idk if it will set you back but many people on abx treatment stop for a brief time in order to adress problems like yeast, bad herxes, or other medical issues. many dont regress when doing this.

like i said i dont know but i bet you will be fine taking a week off.

Hi Renny!

Yep, I had my appendix out two years ago on an emergency basis. Was on full blown Lyme treatment at the time. It is more common than you think in Lyme patients. Just do a search here on "appendicitis" and some posts will pop up for you.

I was fine off of meds while recouperating.! You will be, too!

Thanks Nancy! I had no idea it was common among Lyme patients. Mine was an emergency surgery as well. Oy.

The worst part for me now, and maybe someone has advice, is that they filled me with air to do the laparoscopy. A chest xray showed the air caught up in my ribs and pushing on diaphragm. It is not moving (because my GI tract sucks so much),.. and is VERY painful.

Any thoughts?
