Had my 2nd visit to my LLMD since being on omnicef and just starting zithromax last week.

I was finally granted only 28 days of IV rocephin by the insurance co, but we decided to wait another 8 weeks. He feels that the oral abx has broken the "blood barrier?" and is making slow progress.

He took another western blot to see if we can get one more band positive so insurance will cover more than 28 days. Did anyone else ever have their tests repeated for positive results?

He also wants me not to buy or take any suggested nutrients besides the ones he gives me. The only thing he feels is a good purchase is an infrared sauna, since this sauna was the cure for syphyllis it causes die off for lyme also? Do many of you use this infrared sauna each day?

Why did he decrease my zithromax from twice a day? Now he wants one pill every other day for 2 weeks, then one pill a day for two weeks, then 2 pills every other day for two weeks, and finally 2 pills everyday like I was doing now? Confused over this treatment. The omnicef is staying at 2 pills a day?

OH YES! Many here have done that! It often works.

I'm concerned about a dr who would keep decreasing your meds. That is VERY strange.

It sounds like he's trying to do some kind of pulsing therapy with the zithromax. Maybe trying to pull bugs out of hiding??? You can ask at your next appt.

Maybe Six, he did do another western yesterday to see if there were anymore positive bands.

I know he is well reknowned and I was told he is a great LLMD so I trust his judgement. I thought maybe he was easing the zithro into my system since I have past inner ear issues and zithro is bad on the ears.

I dont have another appt for 8 more weeks and it is a phone appt (cheaper). I found that they dont examine you at all anyway. ALl they do is talk to me when I go there and I can do that on the phone for much less money!
