Currently taking rifampin 300mg 2x/day, and mino 100mg 2x/day. I would like to add something for babesia, and thought bactrim would be good because i don't want to stop the rifampin, only 3 months into it.
The reason i'm on here asking is because my doctor has no clue. She hasn't heard of this drug being used for babesia, and she had never used it for any of her patients, so she doesn't know how to dose it.
So i need everyone's help. Thanks.

My LLMD started me on this a month ago.
He prescribed 1 tablet everyday for a week, then twice a day after that.
But I am having a TERRIBLE time tolerating it. I can barely tolerate the once a day and still haven't increased to 2.
It was prescribed to me for Bartonella, though. Not Babs.

yes the bactrim ds,how much is 1 pill? I want to add it to help hit the bart and babesia. She has people on Mepron and rifampin, but I've read it shouldn't be taken together.
Why can't you tolerate it? Are you on a lot of other stuff too?
