Do you think its okay to take both at the same time? (OLE & GSE) at the same time?

I'm also trying to fight Babesia!!

Right now - I take (SEAGATE) OLE 450mg pills. 100% pure, no fillers.

The bottle says>

Maintenance level - take 2 to 4 caps/day
Additional Support take 4 to 9 caps/day

If I took 9 that would be (4050)MG. per/day that sounds like its way to much???

Hi Steve
Both are anti-viral and anti-bacterial, each working via different mechanisms. Pairing them up should be not a problem at all, in fact herbal studies show that it's best to work with herbs in clusters rather than singly.*

That said, you might find that die-off symptoms could be rather pronounced with both of them together. I would suggest starting with the olive leaf extract (very effective yet gentler than the GSE) then adding the GSE later. Go slowly, to test for your own individualized response.*

Further reading: www.healthy.net go to the Herbal Medicine center, written by David Hoffmann one of the world-top phytotherapy authorities, very scientifically based. www.christopherhobbs.com see the herbal prescriber database. Hobbs does not go into scientific detail on his website but does in his books. He like Hoffmann are both the world-top authorities in scientifically-based herbalism. Hobbs formulates for herb/vitamin companies all over the globe and is a consultant to the health industry world-wide.

See also Potters Herbal Cyclopedia by Elizabeth Williamson. This book details herbal constituents, mentions some tests done and gives lay-friendly info about each herb, organized by alphabetical common name. It's wonderful.

I hope this is helpful. Best wishes with this, and it would be interesting for us here to hear how it goes for you doing this!

Hi chiquita incognita, I thought the die-off would be a lot greater. Ive already started the OLE, so Im glad you said to start with that one first.

This is great information, Ill go to the sites you recommended.

Has anyone tried both of these together?

Thanks, Ill let you know how I make out.

I'm doing it now. Started yesterday. I'll report results as I go along. I'm desperate to use something besides anti-malarials/Abx that may beat the crap out of Babesia.

Hello everybody
Just wanted to let you know of alternatives too if they ever come in handy.

Not to mention however, that GSE and olive leaf extract are pretty strong/effective and according to Linda Rector Page ND, in her book Healthy Healing, olive leaf extract can even take care of chlamydia, AIDS and other STD viruses. So it's not to be sneezed at. I also talked with someone when working in the retail setting, who had greatly improved hepatitis lab numbers when doing GSE. So not to sneeze at it.*

However people respond to different things. My LLMD says that the products made by this ND at a company called Healthy Directions in Rohnert Park, CA are "the best formulated that we have seen" for Lyme and coinfections*. If you are interested, the number to call is 1-800-332-7713

I do not work for the company, have no investments, no connections and no special interests anywhere. I am posting this for the public good.

I do not know which of their formulas target babesia, but I do know that their product Bar 1 targets bartonella*. You could call the company to consult and find out, and where to get their products. If I am not mistaken they sell to the public directly, as well as to doc's offices.

I can say for myself only, as anecdote, that after 6 months (given an infection I have had in my body for more than 30 years, as it turns out!!!) I made very good progress with bartonella symptoms. Much less neurological stuff, no more fingers curling up into the palms of my hands and no more facial stiffness. The fingers still fall asleep but don't curl up anymore, that is past. I did this with only this product and zero antibiotics.

I hope this is helpful.

Hi Randibear
I would follow the directions on the bottle. However, to be sure that you are not herxing or are tolerating the treatment well, I would suggest starting very slowly and gradually creeping the dosage up. GSE is very strong, I would start wiht 1 drop in a cup of water per day and then increase very gradually over a period of 1-2 weeks. If you are as sensitive as I am, you can even start with 1 drop every other day. this will not be therapeutic per se, but instead will get your body acclimated. If you are sensitive, that is.

If you are of a hardy constitution, you can probably start with the full dosage. I think it's wise to go slowly however just to test the waters.

Be sure to report any herx and other symptoms to your doctor for his/her discernment. THis is very important. Also be sure s/he knows you are doing this before starting it, in case something is contra-indicated in your own unique case.

My two cents worth.
