So..the last 1-2 days I'm having a flare of sorts. I'm only on Doxy as of now as we're waiting for my liver counts to return to normal before restarting Rifabutin.

Here is what's going on:
-Mild unsteadyness/off balance(very slight)
-Ocasional flushing face
-slight increase in tinnitus
-Minor visual disturbances (light patches in vision, etc)
-General blah feeling
-mild night sweats
-mild ear fullness

All are fairly mild. I can deal. This usually happens when I have a small flare.

But I'm wondering if it is lyme, Babs, or Bart? I've tested postive for all 3. We've gone after lyme pretty agressively so I suspect Bart / Babs duncani. But not sure.

Not really sure why I'm flaring now. I'm not on anything new. But I did just get over a stomach bug from last weekend where I stopped meds for 2 days.

Thanks,

B

I wish I had an answer for you but I wonder the same thing as these are the same symptoms that come up for me when I herx or have a flare-up.

My LLMD swears I do not have a co. (don't know if I agree with him)and says it is lyme.

I am on day 5 of my abx. break and have not yet had a flare -up. But when I do, Doxy pulsed with Biaxin does the trick.

The best way to figure out what is flaring is to notice the timing or pattern of the flares.

For example, lyme flares every 28 days (approx.). So, mark down the days that you flare on a calendar. Then, count the time since the last flare.

Babs flares every 7 or 14 days according to my doc, and every 4 to 6 days according to Burrascano.

Note the symptoms of the flare. If they are the same every flare, then it is only one disease flaring. Use the above to determine if it is lyme or babs flaring.

You may have a babs flare and a lyme flare. Then, the timing would not look consistent and the symptoms would be different for each type of flare.

My babs flares were like clockwork and the symptoms were exactly the same each time.

Of course, if you stop meds and start them again, that is enough to produce the mild flare you are talking about. In that case, I would call it a herx, since you stopped killing germs and then started killing them again.

Start recording flare days and look for patterns.

I don't believe bart has a pattern and it may not even flare.

To me with the ear fullness, flushiing face, the tinintus, sounds like bart.

That's pretty much me lately. We haven't gone after the bart since my mepron and babs meds mess with bart stuff.
