Has anyone been on a Rifampin, Flagyl and Ceftin combo? If so please share experiences. If not but you have thoughts about it please weigh in. Do you think this is a strong/effective combo or would you have concerns about these 3 drugs together?

I have been taking Rifampin since Jan 1 and started Flagyl a couple weeks after that (had been on Doxy too which is what the Ceftin is replacing).

Does 2000 mg of Ceftin sound normal or a lot? I am going to ramp it up...right now instead of taking 2 caps 2 times a day at 1000mg I am taking 1 cap of 500 2 times a day. Not very familiar w/ Ceftin but just sounded like a lot.

Between my meds and supplements I just counted that I am swallowing 33 pills a day! I am sure a lot of you can relate, but very hour or two all day until I go to bed I have to think about this. Not fun!!!

I am very familiar with Ceftin....but not with regards to Lyme or coinfections. All I can tell you with regards to high dosage is when I had Total knee REplacement surgery in Sept., the site became infected. After initial one day of antibiotic IV, was taking 500 mg of Ceftin twice per day. Figure, with Lyme and co's you would

need more than the normal dose?

Just thought I'd see if I could get any other feedback about this drug combo (Rifampin, Flagyl and Ceftin) in treating lyme and bartonella? Any feedback appreciated!!

Anna,

Did you start this protocol? I'm leaning toward getting on Ceftin next.. Already on Rifampin and used Flagyl for a short period with it.

Just saw your reply Wolfed Out. Yes, I am on Rifampin, Flagyl and Ceftin right now. Did you add in Ceftin?

I have not done ceftin but I have been on Rifampin, recently added Tindamax (similar to flagyl) and was also take Levaquin every other day but I would like to switch the Levaquin due to some tendon pain. Im on the "flying by the seat of my pants protocol."

Can you say what your dosage is of the other meds? maybe you can PM me the information if thats better.

Sorry, I think Ive taken everything except for Ceftin.

It sounds like a good combination for Bartonella and Lyme.. Ceftin and Flagy were great for my daughter but she only took half the dose of Ceftin you're taking. Some believe you have to hit it hard but I think most on here took 500mg BID

I have been on Ceftin for about 4months now. I paired it with Zith and now Biaxin. I have not had any issues with the Ceftin.

The Biaxin is an anxiety trip for me....
