I have recently been diagnosed with c-diff, a very mild case. In fact, I wouldn't have known I had it if my ND hadn't caught it through her EDS screening. It did not show up through the regular stool test.
The ND says it is not contagious as it is a D8 dilution, so not an active infection. I have been treating it as though it is contagious using the usual precautions, bleach, nobody else using the bathroom etc.
I do have some stomach discomfort and yellow poop, sorry TMI, only diarrhea on a few occasions.
How many of you who have had C-Diff and passed it to your family members?
I did not get it as a result of abx tx. I am allegic to abx. I think it came from the many visits to an assisted living facility, and hospital with my elderly aunt.
I am concerned for my family and can't get over the fact that I am contagious. It's such a nasty bug; it scares me to death.
A person very knowledgable about C-Diff told me that the infection rate is now up to 14% in the hospitals. The hospitals will tell you it's about 5%.
We are taking probiotics, kefir and saurekraut (yuc) as well.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The presence of c diff in the colon is not the problem. Some folks are asymptomatic carriers of c diff and will always be, others can lose the presence of c diff entirely.
The problem arises when one is immunosuppressed or has an imbalance in the GI flora where the good is decreased enough to allow the bad c diff bugs to over populate and take over. Usually the good GI flora keeps the bad in check.
All you can do is take good care of yourself and use good hygiene...washing hands. I only use one bathroom in the house and do not allow my children to use it. I also clean the bathrooms with diluted bleach water weekly.
Just FYI. C diff is everywhere. It is very common in the soil. I feel most folks are exposed to c diff at one point or another and it just depends on ones immune system to keep in in check. They say most of our immune system starts in our GI.
Sounds like you are doing all the right precautions and taking great probiotics.
Best wishes
