Have heard people mention both blood tests and saliva tests for adrenal glands.

Do they give the same info?
If not--what is the value of doing one or the other or both?

Thanks!! I question my adrenal gland functioning and have had blood work done but haven't done the saliva test. Want to make sure I rule in or out any issues in this area. What tests would you suggest I ask for?

Saliva and it has to include four samples during the course of a day.

Testing of the blood is useless. One must see the pattern and levels of the adrenal function that takes place during the course of a day.

AnnaOD20 - do you know if it is legal to do saliva testing in NY state?

I don't think it is. I see you are from NY... I assume you have a NY LLMD.

This is probably why they tested your blood, NY doctors hands are tied by the state.

I called the NYS Dept. of Health a couple of months ago because we can not do red blood cell (RBC) testing or hair testing and they said the only 2 things we can legally test for in NYS are urine and WHOLE blood.

I think that leaves saliva out.

My son's LLMD is checking on it right now.
