My spouse was bit by a tick on the 12th of March and refuses to take the Doxi prescribed for prevention. So far no symptoms of lyme disease.

My thought is to take the 28 day supply for myself. In the past when I have taken doxi.(over a year ago) it made me very sick to the point I could not stop throwing up then dry heaves.

I have been taking herbals for quite awhile now and need to take a break from garlic.
I am planning on buying the Jernigan book on lyme disease and some of the products.

My question is should I take the doxi while I wait to order the book and read up on what the next step is to my treatment plan?

I don't want to be sick, maybe it was a herx I was having with the doxi?

A lot of people have to take Doxy with food
( sometimes a LOT of food ) or they will be nauseaus and/or vomit.

Did you take it with food?

My bro-in-law was taking Doxy on an empty stomach and finally complained how nauseated he would get everyday about 45 minutes after taking it. I suggested he take it with a meal, and he had no more problems.

What will your wife do if she starts to have symptoms? Will she be able to get another script?

Hambone, yes, I did take with food, mornings I would try a put some kind of sandwich in my stomach, but would not help, then after.. there could be no way I could tolerate more food.

I am not a big food eater in the first place. Sometimes it makes nauseaus just the smell of food.

Not real sure about spouse getting another script. Maybe one of the lucky ones...I pray.

That was my thinking. If she took it with plenty of food and got that sick, it doesn't sound like a herx.

So I should say no. I just need to hurry up and order the book. Just looking for a little relief. Thought maybe the doxy med could do some help to this disease. Think I will go put my head on the pillow.
