What a bunch of hooey! Can they possibly be any stupider? What, what, what? Do they sit up at night making this stuff up?

Do they really think anyone is going to believe any of this hooey?

So much for the CDC "helping" people. And they wonder why the government is looked down upon for many reasons.

Uggggggggggg.... anyhow....

The CDC has a link to the following report on its website (Steere, et al) and considers it to be "educational" literature.

Basically it states the risk factors for developing chronic Lyme disease are a history of depression and anxiety.

And post-Lyme syndrome is to be treated the same as CFS and Fibromyalgia. [They don't know what causes chronic Lyme, but they are ok with tossing our treatment concerns into their "unsuccessful basket" as if that is totally acceptable.]

And too may antibiotics "may" increase our risk of breast cancer (no proof of course, but just in case it could happen, and pigs fly, they want to throw that in there too).

And chronic Lyme patients are a "counterculture" that doesn't believe in evidence based medicine. [If this is "evidence-based medicine- heck yeah I don't believe it.]

``````````````````````````````````````````
Quotes below...
"Among B. burgdorferiinfected patients, a prior history of depression or anxiety seems to be a risk factor for the development of chronic Lyme disease."
I know I wasn't- but were you suffering from depression or anxiety BEFORE being bitten by ticks?
If that is true we should start posting signs all over saying...
NO DEPRESSED or ANXIETY RIDDEN PEOPLE ALLOWED IN THE WOODS OR HIGH GRASS! YOU COULD BE PART OF A COUNTERCULTURE AND DEVELOP CHRONIC LYME IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THIS ADVISE.
"In those with postLyme disease syndrome, we follow the guidelines for treating chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia (82)."
"A counterculture has emerged regarding chronic Lyme disease (84)."
"In contrast with the findings of evidence-based medicine, some people believe that the tests for Lyme disease are often inaccurately negative, and that antibiotic therapy is necessary for months or years to suppress the symptoms of this often incurable illness."
"Furthermore, prolonged use of antibiotics was recently associated with an increased risk of breast cancer (90). Although antibiotic use may not be causally related to cancer, this observation reinforces the advisability of prudent use of antibiotics."
Unfortunately I've been sick since I was very little, so unless a baby has depression and anxiety from birth, I guess a lot of us are just plain ****ed.
It all comes down to money. The CDC is a government agency so therefor suspect to begin with. This is the same agency to poo poo SARS, SIDS, Asian Flu, N1H1 and more....These people are paid by the insurance companies to downplay diseases and their effects in order to save billions. Great country no?
I don't put any stock in the CDC and little people like Steere anymore. All they seem to know how to do is blah-blah-blah.
I don't give a flip what they say, because CLEARLY they are all off their rockers and ignoramous.
They will all have to face God some day and answer for why they let so many people suffer when they had the power to do something...and chose not to.
I was never depressed in my LIFE before getting a tick bite. That is so laughable. Where do they get this stuff?
well-its old. 2004. they say steere is starting to change to cover his butt now that new research is coming out.
that doesn't change my opinion of him-them-and my fantasy of spraying them with ticks.
when i read this stuff back in the day it really did make me wonder about conspiracy to get rid of all us little peons...so there was more for those on top
i don't know if its cuz i'm older or foggier---but i'm more mellowed out now. whatever.
Tin, you love to stir the fire lady. lol
CDC, NIH, FDA are our typical gov agencies in 2011. Eating up our tax dollars doing STUPID and remaining STUPID.
Best of all they try to keep our citizens STUPID too. ggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Just want to say that it sounds just like what the doc's have done for me.Treating Fibro and Chronic Fatigue symptoms.My best doctor is still cycling me on ab's as he can but after 8 years with lyme disease and no aggresive treatment, still very sick. I believe in chronic lyme, I'll join the club against politics that refuse treatment for people who are still suffering.How many government agencies are we talking about?
