I am on day 4 of IV Ampicillin - 3 times a day. So far I feel no difference.

I did IV Rocephin for 7 months, with no herxing and no improvement - but we were also dealing with mold issues in our home. (I took a two month break while we dealt with the mold problems).

Ampicillin tested healing with ART. I am also on IV Garlic, and herbs for Babesia and Bartonella.

Has anyone been on IV Ampicillin? If so, what was your experience?

At the beginning of my treatment I was on multiple oral abx and I would have mild flu-like herxes for a few days when starting each.

I am concerned about the lack of herxing on either IV med. Do people get better without herxing? I do have a lot of detox on-board.

This three times a day Ampicillin, plus daily IV magnesium, twice a week IV garlic and three times a week IV glutathione is expensive and wearing me out! At least we are making good use of the PICC line.

I just want to see SOME KIND of change. I'm worried that we are spending all this money and nothing is happening.

I havent heard many people using it for lyme. I have worked with this drug for a long time as a vet tech. Its basically injectable iv amoxicillin. I am sorry to say that i doubt it would be very helpful. Its just not that strong. But i am not a doctor. Good luck

I thought that IV ampicillin was the IV form of penicillin, which would be similar to bicillin, wouldn't it?

I don't hear of it being used much, but my daughter was on it for a few months a couple of years ago. I thought part of that was the inconvenience of the three times a day infusion.

I guess my bigger question (maybe I should post it separately), is whether or not you are making progress when you are not herxing?
