Stuck in bed for days. No desire to eat or drink. Feeling depressed. No doc available until Monday. This has a weekly cycle for months. Restarted bicillian IM yesterday. Has not helped.

To Tic Chick: Oh...I've been there some often; that point where you're just "done" with it all. It's sad to say but I think it's very common when you're dealing with a chronic illness and when the treatments make you feel worse before better. But this is when you, and all of us really, need to cling to your faith and trust that God will see you through it.

Sometimes, when I know that "funk" is coming, I try to employ different things that are comforting. Even if it's a friend visiting while I lay on the couch or an old movie that I love or playing my ipod with inspirational music in the background.

I hope and pray you're filled with joy and peace regardless of how crummy you feel. Hang in there. People care about you!

--------------------
Blessings to you!

Yes, we must pray for each other. There is so much power in it. Rest when you can, eat what you can and pray through it all! I will continue praying for you, tomorrow will be a better day !

A weekly cycle says babesiosis to me.

Babs treatment brought out a weekly cycle in me. I got sick every Friday evening and stayed that way until Sunday evening as soon as I started babs treatment.

I just lay. I didn't eat or drink, didn't talk, didn't get up or move, went in and out of consciousness, and had a horrible feeling of DOOM the entire time.

Lyme doc said babs has a weekly cycle and that I was experiencing babs flares. So, he added artemesinin to my babs treatment--to be taken on the days of the flares. I started the art on Friday morning (right before the flare was scheduled to start).

That weekend, the flare was delayed (thanks to the art) until Sat. afternoon and only lasted 6 hours, and it was mild--no DOOM, no zombie act, etc.

Each weekend with the art the flare got less and less until it jumped to every other weekend. Then, finally no more flares.

So, if you are already treating babs, try adding art to encompass the flares. If you are not treating babs, suggest you ask for babs treatment with artemesinin.

Burrascano says that babs symptoms cycle rapidly with flares every 4 to 6 days (page 26)

I hope this helps you in some way. Those weekend flares were absolutely horrible--mentally and physically. 48 hours of pure hell.

Let us know, OK?
