This symptom went away with abx mono-therapy. But since I have been off meds for 6 months this symptom has returned starting a week ago.

It is not painful.. just disturbing to me. I have these painless electric zaps, mostly in one leg and always in the same spot.. right thigh just above my knee. Yesterday it started in the other leg in my calf but didn't last.

This usually will be continual for awhile..and it zaps about every 4 seconds. Not like with my heartbeat or anything.

Does anyone else have this? Know what causes it? I made an appt. for my LLMD next week [Frown]

I have them, they move around my legs, I notice them the most when I am herxing. I can actually see the muscle move and twitch, is that what you are experiencing?

I am not sure what causes them, but I have a lot of my painful symptoms in my legs???

No... but I do have muscle twitches. These are really different.

Imagine a wire, about an inch or so long... painlessly inserted in your leg. Then imagine it vibrating like a tuning fork. Every few seconds.

Ugh..I hate this. Well...at least I had a good 6 months without abx. Time to jump back on the bandwagon.

I get nerve shocks in the side of my neck and my whole head locks up briefly

its pretty scary but it only happened a few times for a split second

I think this is similar to what your getting

it feels like an electrical shock in the nerve

Yes, I have them but in my genitals, of all places. Very uncomfortable. I also have frequent visible muscle twitches in my extremities and for some reason in my jaw. I've actually bit my tongue pretty hard a few times from that.

Also, I have fasciculations, which are hard to describe. They basically feel like popcorn is "popping" in my legs and glutes, and they are visible too.

From what I've read and heard from others here, we all have strange zaps, pops, stabbing sensations and twitches, among other weird sensations. It's part of Lyme.

Of course, I'm not a doctor and if you're concerned you should ask him/her.

Best of luck to you....

Jenniferk32...I have those symptoms you described as well. The strange "firework" fasciculations in my legs and buttocks. And all over muscle twitches, which did get better on abx. but are now coming back since I stopped tx.

I'll be asking my LLMD on Monday [Smile]

Oh yeah, I have all this, it's like my nerves are just full of whatever is circulating there and so there's not enough room for all the molecules that are fighting to find their way....
But I have that with or without abx so I have no idea what causes them....

I have this in my HEAD!! I had it for several days (still do) but I called my dr. yesterday and he says this is normal for people with neuro symptoms of Lyme like myself.

I forgot to ask him if this is a good reaction to the medicine I just started - like if it is "zapping" away the bugs!?!? Hopefully!

PS. This may sound ridiculous but how do I create my own topic - I cannot find it anywhere. Today's my 1st day here!

Thanks!

just in case you didn't find it--it's at the top of the page above "profile" and next to "post a poll"
I had this symptom in my thighs and it went away with my first 4 wks of abx. It has never returned, I'm so happy.
