I take my doxy first thing in the morning (6:30 am) on an empty stomach. About an hour later, I take my amoxy and malarone with a snack then...bam..I am so tired and sleepy. I can't actually sleep-I just lay zombie like on my bed, barely able to move till around 10 am.
I wonder if it is a side effect from the doxy. Weird thing is-evening dose doesn't bother me?
Any ideas what it could be from?

I suggest asking the doctor if you can eat BEFORE taking the doxy. Some of us have really bad problems not doing so.
2nd thought... Mepron can cause you to feel sleepy (in some folks). Since Malarone is similar... maybe?
But since it stops by 10 AM... my guess is the doxy on an empty stomach could be the problem.
How much do you value your stomach? It is suggested by most here that you take it in the MIDDLE of a MEAL. And do not lie down for at least an hour afterward.

Wow.... my LLMD told me I can take my minocycline on an empty stomach...but specifically told me when I was on Doxy to take it in the middle of a meal...
Like... eat half your breakfast, take the Doxy, then eat the rest of your breakfast! And no lying down for an hour after taking!

There is NO abx I would take on an empty stomach. I don't care what they say. Can't do it.

Ditto to food w/doxy/doryx/mino. (Just make sure no dairy w/in 2 hours. Also, don't lie down for at least 30min afterwards- potential for esophageal burns.) Are you taking enough fat w/the Malarone? (w/straight Atovaquone 24grams is recommended; it's fat-soluble).
