Doc said it is nothing to worry about but I didn't have it on my last echo which was last year..so this is new.
I searched that board today and see that it can be Lyme related. I don't think the cardio knows this though and I don't think he knows much about Lyme because he said it should only take a month to treat :/
I'm hoping this is not something I really have to worry about now.

Usually they progress very slowly .. if at all. I've had one all my life and I am now "old" . It has progressed to MVP with "mild regurgitation" .. still not bad.
So, hopefully, you will be fine! They blame all kinds of symptoms on it and I wonder if it's all true. Many symptoms sound like Lyme symptoms to me.

I have this too, and I'm "young" - 25 years. old.
It's only showed up the last couple years, and now it seems like maybe it's actually been lyme this whole time..
My cardiologist told me that LOTS of people have this, esp. women, and it is benign if it is not a severe regurgiation/MVP.
Also, like Lymetoo said, lots of MVP symptoms are in fact lyme symptoms too (i.e. dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain)
On really bad days (like today for me) where I have all these symptoms in addition to more Lyme-only symptoms, I think it's because I'm hit hard with both these conditions.
Hope this helped a little!?
