Does anyone have an herbal remedy for acid reflux? I have a slight hiatal hernia but taking abx really gives me heartburn at night.

My gi doc said I could get throat cancer from constant heartburn but I'd rather not have to take nexium.

I almost choked to death recently because food came back up my throat while I was eating. I have trouble swallowing, might be lyme or ALS, not sure.

I had similar issues and have chronic espophagitis, hiatal hernia, and GERD... I was living on antacids and PPI's..

I haven't touched them for the last two months because now I mix a little slippery elm powder in a little water before bed and no longer have any acid coming up.

You can try limonene.

If that doesn't work, DGL should help a little. Enzymatic therapy makes a nice tootsie-roll flavor version.

Another option is a H2 blocker, like tagamet, pepcid, etc. Not quite as strong as PPIs.

Look into d-Limonene.

The slippery elm sounds good too, but I haven't tried that.
I'm having good results with the orange extract.

Marshmallow root, digestive enzymes have helped me in the past. I really like the Rainbow LIght products, they make one with marshmallow root but I forget the name of the product. You could look for it here www.iherb.com

Also talk to your doctor about possible food allergies which may cause this??

Best wishes, CI
