As you all know i am from US but currently living in Europe. I had a phone appt with Dr. S.
I explained to him the attack that started with sore throat and after a month i am on rage of symptoms. I had violent cough and i felt it was all realted neurologicaly to my symptoms.
He told me its bacteria that causes such respitory infection and told me it's not related to Lyme. He RX me Doxy for 2 weeks and said i am more sick because of my immune system on high alert because of this.
I didn't even get a chance to say maybe it's Myco or co-infections. I told him i been on Amox and Biaxin for a year and maybe i should change Lyme meds and he said no stick with the same and just take Doxy.
Now i have to wait for doxy to be shipped to me. I am just discouraged that i thought it was time for me to hit it with some other meds and i am still stuck on the same boat

Were you an established patient with him before you moved?

You have been on the same meds for two years with no variation whatsoever? Are you also on supplements and herbs? Is he working to heal your body?
If the answers are no, I would think it's time to move on. It takes more than just taking a couple antibiotics to beat Lyme Disease.

Yes, it is time to move on. Any doc that would keep you on the same two meds, without a cyst buster and who has not tried to alternate the combos and treat co infections is not one that is well versed in this illness.
There is a lot more to treat besides lyme just addressing lyme, as you must know from reading this board and he is even doing a poor job with at.
