i was opening a box of wax paper and sliced my finger on that metal cutting strip. it was a pretty good cut and i thought it was never going to stop bleeding. i mean it ran down into the sink and i had to use handfuls of tissue and cold water to get it to stop.
now after several days, it still has not closed. it stings and hurts, is not red or inflamed but hasn't closed yet. you can see the perfect slice i made.
does lyme inhibit the ability to heal cuts and all?

Cuts and bruises do seem to take longer to heal than they used to before I got sick.
Maybe you cut your finger a little deeper than you realized? Try to keep up with the antibiotic ointment and bandaids. Keeping it clean, moist, and covered will help it heal faster.
If the cut is small you could try using some liquid bandaid on it (caution if you've never used this before it can burn when you first put it on). This is usually what I used for paper cuts and other finger injuries.
Good luck!

I have wondered this myself too! I assumed yes and it makes sense to me.
I do seem to have luck putting neosporin on cuts to help heal. Or tea tree oil for something more natural.
I also scar much easier. The simplest little cuts leave a purple scar. My dr did say the purple scaring is from Lyme.

Lyme messes with blood coagulation. Might be good to have coagulation markers tested. I found out I have factor 8 deficiency (no VonWillebrand's, so not classic hemophilia, but close), which means that I tend to bleed a little longer and/or easier than normal.
Yes, I find I take a really long time to heal even from simple thinks like paper cuts. And sometimes I get a rash at the site of a paper cut. So the cut heals, but then I'm left with a raised scaly rash. I don't know why or what this rash is. It's been cultured, but comes back negative for anything (no bacteria or fungus).
