Separate posts:** Long msg**Hi Just joined here @Lymeaware, but have been on Lymenet, The non-profit Lyme Disease Network, a while & am also a member at Fluoroquinalone Toxicity Chat on Yahoo Groups. I have Sjogren's, Lyme,(currently testing neg with "only a P23" result testing pos) Lupus, Epstein-Barr & Herpes(shingles) Just want to know who here may have been on any of the Fluoroquinalone antibx, like Levaquin, Avelox or Cipro, whether in regard to Lyme or other infs such as urinary tract, both males & females or prostrate probs in males??
I believe there may be a connection between some of our Lyme symptoms and those of us who've been as they say "floxed" as we have all been on our share of antibiotic treatment, not only for Lyme symptoms, but for those other infections within our lives, such as dental surgeries(I've had many, many oral surgeries to try to "save" my teeth, but alas, lost them all 17 yrs ago @ AGE 35). cont 981

continue to have oral issues, recently having an abcess, etc. I've been to 5, yes 5 Infectious Dis (Kennedy @UPENN,LEE & MATHUR, Monmouth County NJ, Patrick Aufiero, Hamilton, NJ-who then turned me in a circle telling me to see someone at Upenn-docs who have no clue stating "You are out of my realm", where oh where do we go? I was thrown back to my general PCP, who is trying his best, but once given a Fluoroquinalone,as I have numerous times, it does nasty damage (I have been dxd wtih CRPS/RSD by Dr Schwartzman of Phil, PA and wanted to treat me with a 'ketamine protocol" which in essense all it will do is make me disassociative to all the pain & symptoms I am having to be repeated every 3 months, to keep you in the dark about what you are really suffering with. cont 787

My atrophy is so bad, my hands are ropy bands of tendons, my legs feel like they have Twizzlers inside instead of real muscle & tendons. But if they lump us up all under "fibromyalgia" then it's not a realhealth crisis (just read some doc blogs who don't even think FMS is a real illness-do you want those docs treating you who doubt your symptoms as real?)I would like to see a roll call of those who've been on these nasty drugs and those exhibiting symtpoms like I've said. Many of us may not have made a connection because after you finish a medication, you think it is "out of your system, but Levaquin & other "flox" derivatives continue to cause significant damage. I urge many of you who've ever had tendon issues esp ruptures of Achilles (it not only targets this tendon but arms as well-l I have damage at arms & legs!) Docs are not good at dxing, you know your body. cont 889

I was told by Dr Peter Y. Kim of Columbia that I knew more about my ilnesses than did he who'd been to med school, sad huh?!? He was 2nd doc who said this. Just go to your local pharmacy, obtain lists (CVS just sent mine & it goes back to 2000!) to see right there in black & white the evidence of cause & effect. I am triple-posting this at FQ toxicity & Lymenet too I urge all of you to review every med you take, for whatever reason and reevaluate them with your docs. Be aware Be vigilant Be Well! We are all trying to become our own advocates, but need a voice in order to do so. I am glad I have insurance for my medical issues, I feel for those who don't. But you know there is a real problem when an Insuracen compant tells you to jsut accept what you have & to pretty much stop looking, because soemtimes there is no real "answer" for ilness. 862

If that were the case I would not know right now that I have a mucocele in left nostril that one dr missed entirely as "essentially normal" and a "problem in my concha bullosa" that may be the cause mixed with mycoplasma pneumoniae (+ in bloods on IgG) causing myringitis" T o be determined, but it's going to cost me how much to travel to Ohio when I live in NJ and have been to how many ENT"s in 3 surrounding states (PA,NJ,NY) who've blown me off, knowing what it is they are looking at but not wanting to "comment" on any other docs findings, is this what they teach in med school, ignore all other tests find nothing(when C& S states otherwise) let the patient suffer, ten dangle the carrot of cancer/chemo treatment in front of them becuase by now the infection's so bad, it's actually turned out the worst case scenario. 831

Thanks for letting me rant sorry so long but everyone look at your labs yourselves, do not take the docs word you are neg on ANYTHING-BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE-The only thing the doc cares about is the almighty$$ & that goes for the ins cos too! You are expendable! 264
