I was an AVID runner/exerciser pre-Lyme. I tried to continue to do something...anything, for as long as I could. It got to the point where I even gave up on walking. So today I thought the heck with it, I have to get back to doing something.....I'll take it slow. I didn't last even a mile. I can't even explain what the feeling is. It's not fatigue, I'm not short of breath, no pain...my body is simply telling me to stop. Is it cardiac in nature? I feel somewhat shaky, particularly in my arms, after this short easy walk. It is hot here and I know I have issues with regulating my body temp (I pretty much stopped sweating since Lyme), but I think it is more than this.

I cannot walk either. Always off balance and shaky since diagnosed with lyme. I have had problems all my life with imbalance due to serious head surgery but this is different.

I read on thsi forum that my xanax to control my vertigo is the cause of this shaky feeling but it is new and very different after 15 years on meds. Does you feel almost fainty, like your body is shaking or vibrating inside?

Mine was not cardiac, had a monitor for two weeks. It is my entire neuro system per llmd (and not my xanax..although this has helped me tremendously). He just tested my adrenals and they are very very low, cortisol and dhea. I am not taking compound supplements to bring it up and lessen my stress issue from the lyme. Hoping this helps so I can get moving again too.

Diagnosed with chronic neuro lyme 12/10 after 30 years of vertigo.2 tick bites in 3 yrs from upstate NY. Was on omincef for nine mths..zith and rifampin stopped.Remission~ All the pain and symptoms are back and I am not treating now with biaxin.

koo, have you been on steroids of any kind recently, or presently? Just wondering because I had the same deal going on with me but it was related to steroids.

No GWB, no steroids ever. This whole episode yesterday set me back. I wanted to at least start back walking because I was feeling somewhat better and now I feel like I'm back to square one. I actually started feeling worse over the course of a couple of hours after I stopped walking. Later in the day started to improve. Went to dinner and felt much better. Let me back up a bit. During the day I had a few episodes of severe lightheadedness when getting out of my car to outside (it is pretty hot here). I am wondering if there is some relationship with the heat. Anxiety has set in since this event, also feeling hypertensive. I see my MD tomorrow. I hate this.

Annier, I too have had issues with cortisol and DHEA but they are not always low, tend to go up and down. If my cortisol was low I'm not sure I would be hypertensive. Ugh.

I am hypertensive, on toprol a beta blocker and have low cortisol and dhea. You can have both and they lead to anxiety and shakiness.

Makes sure you check it out since that and the lyme (which I started feeling a bit better from too) are not the cause. I also take methyl (part of b12) shots a few times a week and it has helped me to walk around with less shakiness. Much more energy and it helps the anxiety too. You can also take it sublingual since we do not absorb it well.

This was the beginning of my Lyme adventure. Couldn't walk more than 5 houses down the street.

Treat Lyme and co-infections and it'll get better

: )

I had something similar happen, and it was definitely the heat. I cannot tolerate heat.

We went for a walk on the beach, and had no problem with walking until the heat got to me. I also think it has to do with the overburden of toxins - exercise is good, but we must drink lots of water and have avenues to flush the toxins out.
