We have a sticky at the top warning members to be careful posting their names here online for the WORLD to see.

We've had problems with members who have had all kinds of problems resulting from having either their screen name being their real name or their name being posted in their signature .. or even links in their signature that would tell others their names and other info.

One member recently LOST HER JOB because of things she innocently shared here!!! Her NAME was not even posted, but a link she shared gave her away.

PLEASE read here before sharing your info .. don't forget that insurance companies can also come after you. That is addressed here:

she lost her job??? did she post from work? cause that's a big no-no...how sad.

yeah, i know all about insurance companies. i lost my life insurance after some dumb doc told them i had suicidal tendencies when he filled out the psychical. they denied it of course, but they wouldn't renew it either.

i'm really careful bout logons and all.

good tip thanks.

Yes, she lost her job .. and no, I'm pretty sure she did not post from work... she shared enough info that somebody ratted on her.

sorry don't mean to be nosy. it's a habit since i worked civil rights for 30 years. but no company should fire an employee for what goes on "outside" of the company. the feds can't do it and neither should civilian companies.

unless it impacted the job directly, say misuse of funds or something. it's still sad tho. i hope she got a better one someplace else.

and i hope the rat got theirs in the end...er, you know what i mean...

My name is already all over the internet. I could care less what they do to me but yeah I think others should be careful especially if they have something to lose like a life, family etc. I've already lost everything. No kids, no wife, no money so whatever, you know?

randi, I can't believe you missed that thread.

It was very sad. There was enough info in threads to point directly to this person who was posting.

I believe there was more threads that discussed some things said with others from work. So there was enough to tell this lymenet member they were fired.

They probably used some other excuse to fire...but the truth for firing was obvisious.

I believe this poster went in a deleted some stuff but it was too late, the rat had the evidence.

Pam

yep, i missed it. i try to stay out of all that kind of stuff anyway.

i still find it unconscienable (er, is that right?) that someone would try to get somebody fired over posting here.

i would never ever do that. but that's just me.

ya'll know i have the heart of a rabbit anyway.... i'll cry before i'll fight.

and fer ya'll -- randi was my dog's name...

nobody could pronounce or even spell my real name. combination of celtic and french.
