I was on zithro 250 mg. qd x 60 days. Saw my MD yesterday. She is going to do courses of Flagyl 250 mg. bid x 10 days (although she told me 2 weeks but the pharmacy dispensed 20, I will have to f/u on this), then doxy 100 mg. bid x 30 days, see her again, and repeat. She says the Flagyl is the cyst buster and once the Lyme cyst is busted we hit with doxy. Does this sound reasonable? I have only had one dose of Flagyl so far on a full stomach and as you can see, I am up at 2 AM with my stomach not feeling so great.

this was similar to my starting regimen which was:
3 days Alinia
10 days Tindamax
then doxy
- same concept with the cyst-busting first.
What I read in the new research, though, is that doxy turns them back to cysts. My practioner rotates, but I wonder if the really just need to be given at the same time.

Btw, we've since stopped Doxy (I was on for 7 weeks) to start Klinghardt's anti-parasitic protocol. I just did Biltricide and I start Ivermectin tomorrow. We decided that I've got co-infections (of course), and I wanted to hit them in the Klinghardt order.

Flagyl hits either parasites or protozoas (I forget which) in addition to the cysts. If you herx really hard on it, be sure to tell your practioner. It may be a sign that you need more of it.
