My llmd sent me to a lyme neurologist and she told me to get a spinal tap done and a spec scan. I had a positive pcr lyme test done through igenex two years ago that came back positive and I had two western blots through Igenex that came back positive. This neuro doctor did all my lyme testing this time through quest lab and of course, it came back negative. I told her I wasn't doing the spinal tap and she got very angry and said " it's to rule out alot of other things other than lyme". What is she talking about? I have read that lyme rarely shows up in a spinal tap, is she looking for ms or something? Why isn't the positive pcr good enough for her? Has anyone had it done? Linda
