well the answer about going back on abx has been resolved!!! lol...
he said the lymph nodes in throat, chest and under the arm are especially swollen. like bad....
throat is irritated and red, infected, and so is ear.
told me i should have come in last week when this first started and then it would not have gone into lymph nodes.
asked about yeast. he told me i was paranoid and no he would not test for yeast.
told him about issue in restaurant and at night, so he's going to do fasting tomorrow. here's what the lab sheet says. extended, health panel (comp+cbc+tsh), and hemoglobin A1C. whatever the heck this all means.
he increased my diovan to 320 because my bp was 154 over 144. said it should not run like that even if i was in pain or had an infection. so we'll do this.
i'm to go on ceftin, 500 mg twice a day for two weeks and take it all. i've been doing the florastor and vsl so i'm good there.
he said it should clear up the lymph nodes within a day or so. i hope....
didn't appreciate being told i was paranoid tho.
but at least i can tell hubs i really was sick....you idiot...
so we'll see what blood shows.
anybody know anything about ceftin? i thought it was biaxin but it's not.
here's hoping it's just like he said "upper respiratory infection." he also said throat showed absolutely no sign of yeast.
sometimes i really don't know if he's any good or not, but he's all i've got right now.
oh yeah, almost forgot. no exercise until monday and only then start at 15 and work up weekly.
am tired...
he also wanted me to go on heavier antidepressants and i said no thanks.

Wow, I didn't realize an untreated infection could affect the lymph nodes like that.
As I understand it, ceftin is in the penicillin family, but stronger than plain penicillin. I was supposed to go on it for Lyme last summer, but I got c. diff before I had a chance to start the prescription.
Do be sure to take your florastor and other probiotic--I understand from the people on the c. diff forum that ceftin is one of the antibiotics that increases your risk of getting c. diff.
If you've got a bad infection, that definitely could be affecting your blood sugar. The hemoglobin A1C blood test that he ordered will show what your average blood sugar has been over the last couple of months.
Take it easy and feel better soon!

hmm, i have florastor and vsl#3 right now. i've ordered more theralac but it won't be here for a couple of days. oh yeah, read up on swollen lymph nodes and you'll see infection can really do a number on them. like me....
how many probiotics should i take? i've been doing the florastor twice a day and one vsl#3. i'll add one theralac. should that be enough?
hmmm, wondering also. i have that biaxin and since i'm on ceftin anyway, would it hurt to take biaxin at the same time? or should i just not chance it?

Others who have more experience with those probiotics can probably give you better advice than me about how much is enough.
As far as taking biaxin too, if it were me, I wouldn't. You need to get rid of whatever this infection is, so I wouldn't chance getting another c. diff infection by taking too many antibiotics.
From what I understand, ceftin is pretty strong, so that should work against Lyme and whatever infection you have.
