In the past two weeks my tinnitus has become louder at bedtime and is driving me nuts.
My Lyme dr. said that magnesium was good for it.
Can anyone recommend some other herb/pill/supplement that may help with it.
I am aware of it in the daytime, but it isn't as noticeable as when I am in bed.

The BEST solution is just to have white noise in your bedroom.
Just keep a fan running constantly somewhere in your bedroom. You'll see it makes a big difference.
I can't sleep without having white noise in my bedroom, because it feels like my brain is going to explode from the tinnitus. But with the white noise, I don't even realize there's a problem.
Just make sure the fan isn't too close to your head, because they generate a lot of EMFs.

One..are you taking zithromax at all? I had this with the zithro and they stopped the med right away due to the possiblity of hearing loss.
I put on an air purifier for the sound like James suggested. Althought My husbands tv and snoring all night long drowned it out alot too!!!
I am on omnicef now and the tinnitus has stopped completely.

Me too - does it ever go away???? Don't know if the zithromax is making it worse or it's still the lyme.

I got my tinnitus to go Absolutely Away for 6 hours at a time after using a PEMF machine, and was the world ever quiet!!
If you can find anyone with a PEMF machine - pulsed electromagnetic frequency machine - we hold a coil and it puts out pulses - best if btw 400-700 gauss strength.
We are deficient in electromagnetic energy due to being ill, and this restores it and helps a lot of the body's processing, including the nerves to the ears. It also takes down pain.

I have used a white noise machine called Sleepmate and I love it. It's small and easy to take on trips also. After awhile I felt like the sound was like sending a message to my brain that it is time to go to sleep. The sound is adjustable so you can produce different sounds.
I know of some that have used it with babies to mask the noise in the rest of the house plus as mentioned after awhile it seems to send a signal that it is sleep time.

I take one 120 mg gingko each morning & it stops the ringing all day but it comes back (fainter) at night. (took 7 days to start working) Question for annier - omnicef - were you given omnicef specifically to stop your tinnitus and if you stop the omnicef does the tinnitus return or is it gone for good?

No I was given omnicef from the start in dec and I am still on it until august per Dr R. It hit the brain blood barrier within a couple of weeks and my brain zaps stopped.
He added zithro for 2 months but when I mentioned the tinnitus being so bad he stopped it. He said I should have mentioned it sooner since it can destroy your inner ear and hearing.
I then tried rifampin which almost was the death of me. My blood pressure went insane and uncontrolled after 2 pills and I went into seizures with tremors non stop for days. It was the worse of my life. He also stopped that immediately.
Then he left me just on omnicef after saying the zithro and rifampin mix really stirred up "the pot" and the omnicef will kill it off. I have improved by the day since then. No the tinnitus does not come back when I stop the omnicef.
