If done Iv for years, could u have brain damage? If nerves are damaged from Iv, do they take long to heal? Can they?

there have been some studies done on Niacinamide, that are saying it helps heal damaged brain cells. I have been taking it for 3 months now. My brain has been feeling better since before then, So I cannot say exactly what is happening with me, but I do feel a LOT smarter than I did a year ago. - Still a long way to go.

i dont understand your question...do you mean if ABx (iv) do some nerve damage, or if nerves can be healed with ABx? i never heard of ABx causing nerve damage.. only if in high overdose , for example bactrim

It would be from the Lyme, and yes, it can absolutely heal. There have been people who've essentially had MS who have recovered with treatment.

I have recently been diagnosed with Lyme, and was previously MISdiagnosed with MS. 18 brain lesions. Someday I'll let ya all know if they heal I sure hope they can.

i have heard for years of ppl with pos brain spects-showing damage and after lyme tx the spect becomes neg (no damage)
also i have been going to traumatic brain injury support groups for my two tbis and recently they have all been really excited about new studies showing braine regeneration
many had been told they had plateaued in cognitive therapy but now they have hope they can improve more

When I found out I was healed from lyme, I had questions for my llmd about the damage done to my brain. My llmd reassured me that the brain will repair itself with time, but I could really help it out by using it more. That may sound funny, but it's true. That's why docs recommend older folks to do word puzzles etc to stimulate the brain cells. If you don't use it, you'll lose it. I've noticed that just reading more and being more alert from less sedative drugs has made a big difference for me. Each day it seems to improve. The real test will be if I can get off my seizure meds.
