I have noticed a very strange symptom that I get, every now and then, and I haven't had it for a while, but experiencing it right now, so I thought I would see if (by some small chance) anyone else has experienced this?
My head will feel very sore in just one spot. It feels exactly as if I bumped my head and how it feels sore afterward? Except I did NOT bump my head on anything. (And I promise you that I would remember that, Lyme brain or not, lol).
This is about the fourth or fifth time this has happened in the past five to six months. Never the same spot. Right now it hurts very bad (to the touch) on the top right side of my head, toward the back.
Strange? Do you have any idea what this could be?

VERRRRRY common with Lyme. I feel it very often. I was actually surprised with my chiropractor appts make it better, because it feels like its on my brain almost.
Sometimes it will feel like you describe, like a sore spot on my scalp but then at other times it feels like its inside my head. Very wierd, but I have heard a lot of other people say that too.

I get something similar and it comes and goes in different areas of my head-right now I'm feeling numbness around my eye and just a strange feeling that's hard to describe to any doc. Sometimes I feel like I'm crazy, because it does cause a strange brain fog also. Not sure if it's lyme related or another co infection, but it can be very frustrating. Does this sound similar to what you experience? I'm relieved to hear that I'm not alone in this...

Well of me it is exactly as if the area is bruised. And it will fade a little each day, just the same as if I bumped my head on something. But, again, I know I did not. Just the strangest thing, and YES it is good to know I am not alone in this. I get complete right eye numbness and pain when I get my migraines. The aura comes from the right eye, as well, but this bruised feeling is different. And never in the same spot.
I really wonder what the cause could be, but it does help to know that, at least, I am not alone!

You could maybe try some cranial sacral work - with the emphasis on the cranial, in this case - our head bones can be very much affected by Lyme. I felt a lot of head relief after having it done.

I used to get that same thing -- just like I bumped my head. They would appear and disappear in random spots.
Mine got better with babesia treatment - mepron and I also take zithromax.

I have had strange sensations on my scalp/head since I was bitten. Sometimes it feels what you describe. Other times it's a headache at the crown of my head or a crawling sensation.
I beleive that when this symptom is gone I will not have anymore brain fog and I will be almost 100%. All of my symptoms are better when I dont' have the scalp thing. I feel it flare when I take meds.
I have come to the conclusion after 2 years of TX that it is related to Babesia.
I currently am on Clindamycin and Malarone.

Oh, wow, people. I am sitting here in complete shock and wonderment at these posts. First, here I thought there would be few to no responses on this symptom and look how common it is! Thank goodness for our online support groups for that, right? Wow.
Second, I could not afford co-infection testing, but according to my numbers and certain symptoms that pop up, I always say that if I have any co-infections at all, it would probably be Babesia.
First, this is the most common co-infection to my regional area, and second, although many of the symptoms that I have can most likely be explained as "just Lyme," they also cross over most commonly to BABs versus any other co-infection. And two people here relate this to Babesia.
I have not really seen where this coincides directly with my brain fog, but then my brain fog is mostly 24/7 these days, lol, and the soreness on my head is not.
This post is encouraging me to now post about my strange foot symptom, lol. Might have to do that later. I guess in this crazy world of Lyme, we just never know, do we?
Lots of food for thought here.

Hi -- I was glad to see this! I have been getting the same thing. Mainly in the back of my head. Will feel a soreness coming on and it lasts a few days. Sometimes one side, sometimes the other. It scares me -- but I figure if it goes away it's hopefully ok. Going to ask my LLMD about it at my next appt.
I also get some pimply things on my scalp. Usually they seem to appear a few days before the soreness comes, but not always.
Crazy.
