Every time I eat a large amount of salmon (wild, alaskan) whether it's that cold, smoked and ready to eat kind or the fillets that are cooked, I get this euphoria feeling throughout my entire body, but especially in my stomach. It happened even before Lyme disease and far more strongly. What's in this stuff that this happens?
I've eaten plenty of other kinds of fish in the same amounts, and even take the acclaimed "only mercury and heavy metal free wild alaskan fish oil in existence," and yet this hasn't happened. So what's the deal here?

If it isn't the Omega 3s, the only other thing in salmon not found in other fish + fish oil supplements is astaxanthin.

You kidding me? I eat tons of seafood loaded in astaxanthin. There is more to salmon than just two components.

Well, yes, salmon of course has other fatty acids, etc, but if asking what is different between salmon and other fish, astaxanthin is the one thing that stands out. Salmon typically has more astaxanthin that other sources of seafood. It is also higher in Omega 3s than most other fish, but if you have tried fish oil pills without a similar effect, then Omega 3s don't seem to be the answer.
I am not saying astaxanthin is the cause of your 'euphoria', as it is rather unlikely. Feeling euphoria from salmon sounds like either: a placebo effect, or maybe you simply really like how salmon tastes.

Maybe the euphoria feeling is due to the fact you are eating the fish and it isn't eating you!
I get that way when eating wild game, especially bear.
