I don't know about clots around picc lines, but if you have a deep vein thrombosis this is very dangerous and you should call your doctor now. Hopefully it's not that, not trying to alarm you.
take care

Don't want to scare you either but if you have not had a medical person look at this you should go to the ER ASAP.
Problems with picc lines are very serious and you can't waste precious time.
How was it determined it was a blood clot?

This is one reason why I have avoided IV. I have Factor V Leiden which increases my risk for clots. If you haven't been tested for this, you probably should be.
Just be sure to ask your MD about it...

I had three simultaneous clots from a PICC a few years ago. Did they find them/confirm them by doppler and where are they?
Are you on Luvnox injections so you can go on Coumadin in a couple of weeks and/or are they planning on putting in filter device to catch anything that may clot off? Please fill us in, OK?
I assume your LLMD is aware of what's going on, right?
Will be saying some prayers for you if that's OK.

I take high dose nattokinase to prevent blood clots.
Try taking nattokinase to dissolve your blood clot. This is not proven, i think, but the grapevine says it works.
You have to determine the correct dose of nattokinase for you (or lumbrokinase ). Does Luvnox dissolve an existing clot?
You should consult a hematologist. An official hematologist probably can't prescribe nattokinase, i think? Some anecdotes say it works.
Before my LLMD put people on IV, he required that they have the coagulation panel blood test, in case the patient has a gene for blood clots. I did indeed test postiive, so he didn't consider me a candidate for Picc IV.
He said that for such a patient, he would prescribe a "peripheral". It has to be reinserted every week just at skin level by a nurse, and i hear they are always falling out.
Personally i take about 34,000 FU's perday of nattokinase(Fibrinolytic Units), (that's 1700 mg) because that dose prevents uncomfortable symptoms in my lower legs which i IMAGINE and GUESS to be precursor symptoms of trouble. I'm just GUESSING based on how my body feels. In 6 years i've never had a blood clot, which proves nothing; maybe i wouldn't have had one anyway.
I don't know how you would determine your nattokinase dose if you can't feel your body's symptoms.
PS A "normal" preventive dose of nattokinase was said by one person to be 100 mg in A.M., 50 mg at noon and 100 mg in evening. My high dose may not be very common, 500 mg 3x per day, then another 200 mg during the night.
The "normal" dose was told to me by a nattokinase entusiast from Switzerland, a girl who woke up in the hospital after surgery with a blood clot from groin to knee, which she dissolved by using nattokinase; i forget how long it took.
I take cheap pills and can't guarantee what the actual dosage is; the pills may be deficient or weak; thank goodness my body tells me how much it needs.

Vitamin E and Sassafrass are also natural blood thinners that may help. When my Brother had a blood clot in his foot, he used both the vitamin E and the sassafrass (tea, I think), and his clot went away and he got better (he does not have Lyme).

Luvanox can probably be a bit helpful even with the existing clot. But as you are in a civilized area go to the ER immediately.
