Based on my reports she said that it is definitely lyme that we are dealing with.
Bloodtest came back with low B12, D and Iron stores.
Gave me a B12 injection. So far I feel sleepy but its been a stressful day.
If it is effective......how soon do you feel it and what are the effects?

i feel the effects about an hour after shot, take about 11 am, also find it relaxing, so, i find energy in the afternoons and by evening relaxing.

How often do most people get these shots? She said that if I felt more energy we could repeat the shot..but she didn't say how often.
I was hoping it would work instantaneously...but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does this mean it is not effective? I was given the shot at about 2:00 today.

Don't forget, pme...YOU ARE SICK!! One B12 shot is not going to "cure" you. It should help .. esp if you are low in B12 and iron.
I take the shots about twice a month. I can take them more often if I want to. I find it really helps with depression and an overall feeling of well being. But I'm not sick like you!!

Thanks for the reminder lymetoo. You are right...and its hard to be patient. After all this time wouldn't it be nice if there were one thing that would give instant gratification. LOL
Guess this isn't it...but there's always tomorrow.

I loved my b12!! I was given an rx for them and I gave them to myself. I was allowed to use them once per day if I wanted but probablly did it 2x a week.
The shots can sting, but they are no big deal. You can order them from infuserveamerica.com with an rx
they are not expensive. The good thing about infuserve is that they are highly concentrated so you are only injecting 0.1 ml into the skin. They used to be 1 ml.

I have been taking B12 shots every other day since April. It took me about 1 week to notice a difference. The more I gave myself the shots, the more of a difference I noticed.
If you feel that sleepy, then take a nap. Maybe your body is trying to tell you something.
You'll get there! This disease has most definitely taught me patience!

Unfortunately, I still don't notice any difference......I am glad you all have some relief from the fatigue from them though!

My doctor also prescribed Vit B 12 shots IM 3 to 5 times per week and I feel so much better. The pharmacy mails them to my house with the needles and syringes. They send a 25G needle which is much more comfortable during the injection. I have more energy, less foggy brain and just over all can feel the benefit. I hope that it works for you too.

I have had good luck with B12 injections too. They seem to help my sleep cycles and also give me that refreshed feeling on waking in the morning.
The only downside I see is the bruises on my stomach that I get. This is a small price to pay.
It may take a while to build up for you to reap the benefits. Stick with it..

Thanks....that's what I need to know. Should I just write it off if I didn't feel anything major after the first one? I guess not. I will speak with my doc.

I did the shots in my belly for about a month, few times a week. Didn't notice anything, but I was pretty sick at the time.
Didn't hurt when I injected.

I give myself B12 shots. I find I hardly feel them when given on the outside of my thigh. Hope that is an ok site. Wonder - does anyone know how long the effects last?
