Dr. B discussed this virus in his talk at CALDA. He said it causes depression, anxiety, ADD and other mental emotional problems. Amantadine gets rid of it.

Looking back, I had cognitive problems before lyme. Some people would insist I was infected before I knew it but I don't think so. I have always had memory problems. For instance, I cannot play piano without making constant mistakes. Years and years of practice but no better. There seems to be a brain glitch like crossed wiring mixing signals and causing short black outs - forget where I am, hit the wrong note, have I ever seen this piece before? There has been depression/anxiety too - before lyme.
Is it possible there is an explanation?

I have some amantadine I never used which I think I should try.
Amantadine is supposed to help get the drugs deeper into your tissues( like flagyl), so that is a benefit too. It also helps with muscle tremors but those are gone for me now.

Has anyone been treated for Borna Virus?

I would suggest you watch Dr. Montoya's talk...he talks a lot about brain fog, also mentions depression. The link to his talk can be found towards the bottom of this web page: http://chronicfatigue.stanford.edu/

You may want to get tested for various viruses too. See the infection tab of that website for info on testing.

My understanding is that Borna virus testing is not done in this country. A talk on Borna virus can be found here: http://www.scivee.tv/node/7965/video

Best, Timaca

Yes- two in my family have tested positive for it through ART testing by a Dr. K - trained doctor. He has given us rizole zeta from Biopure for it. We have not treated long enough to know if it has helped.

Thank you for the link timaca. I have never heard of rizole zeta tick battler. I will have to look that up.

I took 100 mg amantadine this morning. More anxiety and depression and irritation. It probably caused deeper penetration into the cells. I plan to do Coartem on Thursday so I should start this afterwards. I think it will at least make the treatment more effective. I will have to discuss it with the GP.

Borna responds well to KPU/HPU = need for heavy metal detox, EMF reduction, etc.

Borna Virus is transmitted from horses.

Most of Dr. K.'s protocols cover this subject and the remedials for it are discussed in multiple page protocols on the internet.

Take care.
