Hi all,
So i'm moving and changing Dr's. I think my current LLMD is kinda in over his head. So i had a phone consult with a possible new LLMD, who I did really like and think she knows what shes doing. She said there were some things in my current treatment which she advised I stop immediately.

One of those things was taking Doxy as one of my abx. She said there were studied that showed using Doxy later in treatment promotes cysts. So she wants me to change to zithromax. I havent comitted to this new Dr yet, as I still have an appoint with another potential LLMD. But the move wont be for a few more months. So I might be in the inbetween stage for a while. Not really knowing WHO my Dr is and who has the final word.

And I dont want to change Dr's twice-- if I end up not going with this Dr in the long run

Soooo.....so do I refill my Doxy...or do Zithromax? I feel torn and confused.

can you ask your current doc for the zith?
I would--saying you'd like to try it instead, and mention you've heard about the possibility of the cyst thing?
without mentioning the other doc.
someone just posted the study that showed more cysts formed on doxy in the lab.
and say, what do you think? as if you wanted his opinion and approval so he won't think you're telling him what to do.
i guess it depends on the doctor's ego, personality, flexibility, etc.

he would be flexible, I think he would just let me do it if i asked (which is part of the problem with him--lol). Yea...I'll go with the Zithromax instead of the Doxy.

Another problem was that the newer Dr said she would def NOT chelate me via IV considering my Myethlation (sp?) problems and my old Dr is chelating me right now via IV. So now i have to make a judgement call on that too! BLAHHH

I didn't think zithromax did much for Lyme?? It's usually paired with mepron, malarone, or artemisinin for babesia.
