well i went to the dr today. so far no definite diagnosis but he really isn't saying much. he scheduled a ct scan with contrast for friday.
he has put me on nexium and increased my elavil to 20 mg at night instead of 10, told me to stay on levsin (an antispasmodic) and low fat diet.
he also told me to continue with the theralac and vsl 3 daily. surprised about that. no doctor has recommended probiotics before. i've always done them on my own.
he also told me to continue with the exercise no matter how tired and worn out i am.
but i'm wondering. i would like to go back on abx. so can you take abx with the nexium? or should i wait for an hour.
i am still sore but right now it has moved to the right side!! my lower abdomen is also very sore.
he's thinking "IBS" but said he's not willing to go on record yet. yeah right...but at least he's willing to do tests. he said if nothing shows on the ct scan then we'll do a eus, where they put the scope in the stomach. maybe ulcer.

Sure you can..... but randi.... I'm coming through Texas very soon and I will beat you to a pulp if you take more abx .. esp right now. Taking more abx would likely mean another trip to the ER for you.
(tough love)
IBS.. Don't those GI drs love that one? It's like "fibromyalgia"... regular drs love that one too.

When a GI doc says IBS they're telling you "I Be Stumped" and they really have no clue...
Most of the time, "IBS" symptoms are caused by a number of other things, such as food intolerances (lactose, fructose, etc.), delayed food allergies, Celiac Disease/Gluten Sensitivity, poor gastrointestinal motility, small bowel bacterial overgrowth, Candida overgrowth, insufficient digestive enzyme production (liver/pancreas), parasites, GI Lyme/Coinfections, poor dietary choices, etc.
