I am so sick. Need to treat. I don't think I have one body part that is fuctioning properly.
From head to toe I feel so sick and am in so much pain.

What can I take that is effective that won't completely push me over the edge? thanks.

Levaquin is pretty well tolerated, with one VERY big exception. _ it can couse major tendon damage. A way to avoid this is to load up on MAgnesium before and while taking it.. whatever mag you take now, double it, generally. It is supposed to be great for Bart. I know Cipro, which is in the same family, did wonders for me!

Hi there,

Your bands light up like a Christmas tree... jeesh!

With your Bart at 40 does your doctor feel pretty confident you have it?

I just started Rifampin. Can't say it is tolerable. I have never had eye symptoms but do with this. Very achy and sore all over.

I am hoping as my parents used to say about me "Lets hope its only a phase"

This is really a hard question to answer since I know you could talk to 10 people and get 10 answers regarding which med is best tolerated. Everyone is different and most of the time, it is going to take a combination of swapping around with medications.

The three that have been mentioned are three that I have been on at different points. Not all at once, but one at a time with other meds with them.

Cipro and Levequin are in a family and then Rifampin is another one that works well against Bart. Good luck to you and hopefully you have have a LLMD that will get you on the road to recovery.

My Lyme bands - compared to others - I don't know if they are alot or what. I'm surprised I show much at all on the IGG's - since I have CVID - ie deficiency in production of Immunoglobulin G. One would think that would matter somehow. Regardless - I am considered negative for LD.

For Bart. with IGG 40 - I don't know. Doctor is noncomittal (sp?) - so I will test again in two weeks.

Some of my worst problems are with my tendons and my eyes. MRI's already show tendon strain - do I further risk more damage with Levaquin?
My eyes: dry, painful, with photophobia. Do I chance making them worse?

I have IVIG every three weeks. I just finished six weeks of Doxy 100 mg/day and feel like I would rather just die than feel this bad.

I am so afraid to risk my gall bladder, tendons, eyes etc on the possibility I have LD and/or Bart. It is horrible not to have 100 pct certainty.

ie is it LD/Bart or something else? That is the million dollar question for many of us.

Hence my questions in regards to which Abx less risky and easiest to tolerate - since I have decided to go after Bart.
