well i made it through the ct scan. i had to drink about 16 oz of barium, thought i was going to throw it up, i mean it's bad. so i thought all done.
nope!! get back in the room and they hand me ANOTHER CUP!! i almost finished it all so she said no problem. and i thought whew, no iv.
so she turns and says stick out your arm and i thought whoa!! so i had the stuff that warms you all over, iodine i think.
the ct scan was one of those new machines and only took about 15 minutes.
i made it without going to the bathroom too!! but after drinking all that, i really almost threw up the barium.
i had tos top and get something to drink on the way home. ugh, now i'm burping it up.
this was an upper abdominal. so did i have to drink that crap and an iv??
does it provide better pictures or something?
oh yeah, my gastro is concerned about my enlarged heart. he said it IS a big deal and wants me to find a cardiologist at baylor and get another consultation. shoot, wasted over a year or more on some nut job telling me that it was "nothing to worry about"...
geez, one tells you one thing, another tells you the exact opposite.
but this gastro rated in the top 5 for north texas so i'm going with him. also it's out of baylor and i love that place!!!

Maybe you will finally get the right treatment Randi! You have had some crappy doctors in the past.
