I have had a red irritated eye lid for a couple of days and woke up with puffy eyes this morning.....went to local clinic doctor who said I have a form of angioedema in my eye......he prescribed prednesone for a few days.
I've had lyme for a long time but it is now under control.....not taking abx.....just on Abab and Abart antimicrobial drops at this time.
Do you think I should I take this drug? l told the doctor that I have lyme and it may not be good for me..... his response was that I could try taking Claritin , an antihistimine, first to see if it works, otherwise I should take the prednesone.
Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
Thank you all for your help.

I had a problem with my eye for a long time. Someone wrote on my facebook that they use colloidal silver for everything from cuts to sore throats. I went and bought some at the health food store and sprayed it in my eyes. It seemed to work but I don't know I guess it could make it worse.

Natural tears are available at any drug store. Just look in the eyecare section.
I would try the antihistamine drops first. See how it goes.

. Do hot compresses on the eye, this should help.

I would try benadryl and maybe even zantac. There are H2 receptors in the skin and taking a H2 blocker such as zantac is helpful. Of course, make sure this would be okay to do considering any other meds you are on.
I would wait on the prednisone for now, as long as your symptoms aren't that bad.
Any idea what is causing it? I would try to figure that out too and eliminate whatever it is. Don't want it to happen again.
