Hello, My husband has been on IV Rocephin for four months now and recently started taking Tindemax and Zithromax orally. I feel he has to try a new combo of abx. I do not think the Rocephin is working anymore. His hands and arms have become so weak he can barely move them anymore. Some of his other symptoms have gone away (ie: his energy is better) I believe the lyme bacteria have settled in his arms and hands and think he needs something to get them out. Any suggestions? We go see the doctor tomorrow. Thanks for your thoughts.

I saw in one of your other posts that the neurologist suspected ALS? If that is the case, it complicates matters regarding antibiotic choices. Some tickborne patients have increased muscle wasting if they treat too aggressively with antibiotcs.
Regardless, I didn't see any testing or treatment for coinfections? It is very unusual for tickborne patients who have been sick for 6 months or longer not to have additional coinfections which would require different antibiotics or antimalaria meds.
There was a very good thread on here recently which listed some of the other things ALS patients should be tested for -- I know one of the things besides babesia was mycoplasma fermentans. Try doing a search or maybe someone else can provide the link.
